Job summary

Metrea is seeking a Deployed Test Engineer (Systems Integration & Test Engineer – Deployed Mission Systems) to help ensure software systems work correctly in real-world environments. You will deploy, test, and validate systems on aircraft, collaborating with engineering teams and customers.

The role involves hands-on testing, on-site support, and occasional travel. This is a hybrid position with time in our London/Harwell offices and at test sites.

Qualifications

• Background in and passion for Software QA & Testing.
• Degree or equivalent in Software, Systems, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and updating software on aircraft and test systems
• Record and maintain test evidence and deployment notes, including test results, defects, and system configurations, to support engineering teams and customer reporting
• Support system-level testing in real environments (including aircraft reference systems and simulators)
• Seek feedback and continuously improve technical and on-site working practices
• Help ensure the system meets functional and performance requirements
• Capture clear and actionable defect reports, including steps to reproduce, logs, and environmental details
• Work with senior Engineers to help resolve issues found during testing or deployment
• Work alongside customers and internal teams during deployments and testing
• Communicate clearly and professionally, especially during on-site activities
