Metrea is seeking a Deployed Test Engineer (Systems Integration & Test Engineer – Deployed Mission Systems) to help ensure software systems work correctly in real-world environments. You will deploy, test, and validate systems on aircraft, collaborating with engineering teams and customers.

The role involves hands-on testing, on-site support, and occasional travel. This is a hybrid position with time in our London/Harwell offices and at test sites.

Qualifications

• Background in and passion for Software QA & Testing.
• Degree or equivalent in Software, Systems, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
• Willingness to travel regularly, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing and updating software on aircraft and test systems
• Record and maintain test evidence and deployment notes, including test results, defects, and system configurations, to support engineering teams and customer reporting
• Support system-level testing in real environments (including aircraft reference systems and simulators)
• Seek feedback and continuously improve technical and on-site working practices
• Help ensure the system meets functional and performance requirements
• Capture clear and actionable defect reports, including steps to reproduce, logs, and environmental details
• Work with senior Engineers to help resolve issues found during testing or deployment
• Work alongside customers and internal teams during deployments and testing
• Communicate clearly and professionally, especially during on-site activities

Position Summary

As our Deployed Test Engineer (Systems Integration & Test Engineer – Deployed Mission Systems), you will help ensure that our software systems, integrated withaircrafthardware, work correctly in real-world environments. You will support the deployment, testing, and validation of our systems onaircraft, working closely with engineering teams and customers.This role does not involve permanent deployment to site, when notdeployed you will be an active member of the Software QA team to help deepen your understanding of the Product.

This is a hands-on role that combines software testing, system integration, and on-site support.You willworkhands-on with real systems, travel to interesting locations, and develop both technical and communication skills.

What You’ll Do

• Basic knowledge of networking (IP, connectivity, troubleshooting)
