Job summary

SCC is seeking a DS Field Technician to maintain, repair, and support managed print equipment on client sites. The role is field-based with a company vehicle, based from Livingston, and the salary package ranges from £28,000 to £30,000 plus extensive benefits.

Hours are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a 2-stage interview process. The role includes ongoing training, career development, and volunteering days as part of a broad benefits scheme.

Qualifications

• Competent technician with experience repairing colour and monochrome MFP devices.
• Ability to install print drivers and connect printers to simple networks.
• Strong diagnostic fault-finding skills across varied equipment.
• Full driving licence is required.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet customer deadlines.
• Willingness to adhere to client processes and site procedures.
• Analytical problem-solving approach to difficult situations.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend field technical calls at client premises and repair on site efficiently.
• Maintain accurate technical records using PDA tools and communicate with call control.
• Organise vehicle and spare parts kit to minimise Return to Fit calls.
• Maintain Sharepoint cloud-based document repository access via online sync.
• Ensure company vehicle is maintained and presentable.
• Submit accurate expense records with receipts.
• Attend technical training and online modules to keep skills up-to-date.
• Collaborate with departments to improve service delivery.
• Communicate technical observations through escalation channels for corrective action.
• Provide basic end-user training and support when needed.
