Job summary

SCC is recruiting a DS Field Technician for field-based work in Livingston. The role focuses on maintaining, repairing and providing technical support for managed print equipment, ensuring adherence to SCC DS standards and safety procedures.

Role requires willingness to take on security clearances and to operate with a proactive, customer-focused approach. Hybrid working and core hours align with role requirements, with a supportive benefits package and volunteering days included.

Qualifications

• Competent technician with expertise in repairing and maintaining colour and monochrome MFP devices.
• Able to install print drivers and connect devices to simple networks.
• Strong diagnostic fault-finding skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend field technical calls at client premises and fix on-site with minimal delay.
• Maintain accurate technical records via PDA tools and communications with control.
• Organise vehicle and spare parts kit to minimise RTf calls and ensure tools are safe and available.
• Maintain SharePoint-based document access and online synchronization of tools.
• Ensure company vehicle is maintained, clean and presentable.
• Submit accurate expense records with receipts.
• Attend technical training and courses to keep skills up-to-date.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient service.
• Escalate and inform in Technical Department channels about issues.
• Provide basic end-user training and support where needed.
