Job summary

Lanes Group is recruiting a Field Manager to lead day-to-day operations at the Iver depot, Colnbrook. You will manage field-based engineers and deliver drainage and wastewater services safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, health & safety knowledge, and the ability to coordinate planners and crews across sites. A valid UK driving licence is essential, with a 50-hour week and permanent, full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Have previous supervisory, team leader or management experience.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Have a good understanding of Health & Safety and operational compliance.
• Be confident managing field-based employees.
• Be comfortable challenging poor performance or unsafe behaviour.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be organised and capable of managing multiple operational priorities.
• Be able to make appropriate decisions in a fast-moving operational environment.
• Have good IT and administrative skills.
• Have a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day management of allocated field-based engineers and operational teams.
• Providing visible leadership and support to employees working across operational sites.
• Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
• Regularly visiting operational sites to monitor safety, quality, productivity and compliance.
• Ensuring employees understand their responsibilities and the standards expected of them.
• Monitoring individual and team performance and addressing areas requiring improvement.
• Working closely with planners and operational management to ensure resources are effectively deployed.
• Supporting the resolution of operational issues and escalating significant concerns where required.
• Ensuring company vehicles, plant, tools and specialist equipment are appropriately maintained and used correctly.
• Ensuring appropriate PPE is worn and maintained by all employees.
• Conducting regular team briefings, toolbox talks and safety discussions.
• Supporting incident, near-miss and operational investigations where required.
• Maintaining a professional and positive working environment across the team.
