Job summary

Panda is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to maintain, service and repair a wide range of plant machinery across a busy waste management site in Leeds. You will diagnose faults in hydraulic systems and perform timely repairs while ensuring electrical loom diagnostics and full mechanical checks are completed to minimise downtime.

The role requires hands-on diagnostic ability, strong mechanical knowledge and experience with heavy plant equipment, under a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Maintains, services and repairs a range of plant machinery incl. loaders, compactors, conveyors, shredders, balers and picking lines.
• Strong diagnostic skills to identify faults in mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical looms and heavy plant equipment is required.
• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults in hydraulic systems and complete timely repairs.
• Maintain, install and troubleshoot electrical looms, wiring and connections across plant machinery.
• Carry out full mechanical and electrical diagnostics to identify faults and repairs.
• Keep maintenance records up to date and report on equipment performance.
• Work with operations and engineering teams to support equipment availability.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety procedures.
• Report hazards or incidents promptly and support a safe environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
