Job summary

First Military Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Engineer (Electrical) to work across the UK, predominantly around the M4 corridor including Swindon and Gloucestershire. You will commission, maintain and repair power protection products, with occasional modifications and night-shift work as required.

The role requires a technical education in electronic/electrical engineering and the ability to read electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum ONC/HNC/HND or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical engineering.
• Knowledge of regulator and logic control systems, rotating machines, rectifiers and inverter drives.
• Flexible, willing to travel countrywide and occasionally to Europe; weekends and some nights.
• Self-learner with on‑the‑job training; good written/spoken English.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Commission, maintain, repair and modify power protection products.
• Attend sites with tools and spares and be prepared for visits.
• Work flexible hours; on-call duties and potential overnight stays.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support with engineers on rotation.
• Manage time, equipment, vehicle and reports; submit paperwork promptly.
