Job summary

Smile Digital in London seeks an experienced Field Line Manager for Fire & Security to lead a team of field engineers while remaining technically involved. You will provide audits and quality checks and manage performance, conducting 1:1s and supporting training and development.

This role is not office-based; you will be on-site with clients, handling complex faults and driving safety/compliance across fire alarms, intruder, CCTV and access control systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Fire & Security background.
• Experience across fire alarms, intruder, CCTV and access control.
• Previous people management, supervision or team leadership.
• Experience managing performance and engineer development.
• Genuine experience across both fire and security.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ideally you will have worked with at least two fire platforms and two intruder platforms.
• Knowledge of BS 5839 and BS EN 50131 is important.

We are recruiting an experienced Fire & Security professional to take responsibility for a team of field engineers while remaining technically involved themselves.

This is not an office-based management role. The successful person will provide technical support, complete audits and quality checks, manage performance, conduct 1:1s, support training and development and step in on complex faults where required.

Key requirements:

• Strong hands-on Fire & Security background
• Genuine experience across both fire and security
• Previous people management, supervision or team leadership
• Experience managing performance and engineer development
• Strong complex fault-finding skills
• Confident customer-facing
• Experience across fire alarms, intruder, CCTV and access control
• Full UK driving licence

Ideally you will have worked with at least two fire platforms and two intruder platforms.

Useful systems include Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Texecom, Galaxy, Pyronix and Paxton.

Knowledge of BS 5839 and BS EN 50131 is important
