Job summary

AWD online is looking for a Learning & Development Manager to coach leaders across multiple sites, strengthen talent pipelines, and turn operational insight into measurable capability improvements. This field-based role requires hands-on L&D experience in retail/hospitality, strong coaching and stakeholder management, and a data-driven approach.

Travel nationwide (60-70%) across the South of England, London, Surrey and Berkshire. Salary £35,000–£38,000 per annum plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a multi-site retail or hospitality leadership environment.
• Hands-on Learning & Development experience.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and leadership development skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capability.
• Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
• Data-driven approach with the ability to turn insight into action.
• Good commercial and operational awareness.
• Full clean UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
• Full right to work in the UK without restrictions - No sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Field Coaching and Store Support: Deliver live in-store coaching, structured store visits and targeted interventions, with clear actions and follow-up.
• Talent and Succession Development: Support leadership readiness, formal sign-off preparation, talent trackers and succession planning.
• Training Delivery and Onboarding: Facilitate workshops, clinics and targeted training, support leader onboarding and drive completion across learning activity.
• Digital Learning and Initiatives: Support adoption of learning platforms, new initiatives, launches, operational resets and new store openings.
• Performance Monitoring and Insight: Track coaching effectiveness, talent readiness, store visit outcomes and follow-up completion, using insights to identify recurring gaps.
• People and Recruitment Support: Monitor recruitment pipelines and adverts, support defined HR training activity and follow up on complaints and training actions.
• Planning and Stakeholder Alignment: Manage the training calendar, provide monthly training and people updates, join performance reviews and contribute to planning cycles.
• Business Priority Support: Respond to urgent priorities and provide focused coaching in at-risk or underperforming stores.
