Job summary

Celestra Limited is seeking a Field Engineer for Milton Keynes to travel daily and service IT equipment across Hospitality and Retail clients. You will replace, swap, or repair devices with a focus on rapid, reliable delivery.

The role involves regular travel across the South East/Midlands/East of England, occasional overnight stays, and a 5-day schedule across 7 days, including alternate weekends. A company car and fuel card are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with EPoS installations in Hospitality or Retail.
• Familiar with Cat5e/Cat6 data cabling and IT equipment configuration.
• Able to document clearly and accurately.
• Proactive and reliable with ownership mindset.
• Strong communication with engineers and clients.
• Willing to travel; holds a UK driving licence; Milton Keynes area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, refurbish, and maintain IT equipment including tills, Chip & PIN devices, tablets, digital signage, media screens, kitchen systems, Wi‑Fi infrastructure, and structured cabling (Cat5/5e/6 and fibre).
• Carry out equipment swap-outs, repairs, and ensure proper processes and documentation.
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and explain issues; follow escalation procedures.
• Install and terminate network cabling to patch panels and modules per industry standards.
• Conduct site surveys, audits, and research to support installations and project delivery.
• Provide support to field staff and head office, maintaining high quality and service standards.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and on-site procedures.
