Job summary

NatCen, the UK’s leading independent social research organisation, is hiring a Field Interviewer to work in Luton on a part-time basis. You will visit homes to conduct interviews on topics like health, housing and transport, guiding conversations on daily life in Britain using a tablet or laptop.

This field-based role requires a valid UK driving licence, access to a car, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence and sole use of a car.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to complete a DBS check.
• Reliable home broadband and a tablet or laptop with camera.
• At least 18 hours available per week and flexibility for evenings/weekends.
• Strong verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Visit people in their homes to carry out vital interviews on topics like health, housing and transport.
• Use a tablet or laptop to guide conversations and capture real experiences of daily life in Britain.
• Be out in the community, knock on doors, and manage varying responses with professionalism.
