Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Field HSE Lead to manage a four-person HSE team and report to the Project HSE Manager. You will support a Carbon Capture Project, maintaining the highest health, safety and environmental standards across all site activities.

You will lead HSE systems, audits, investigations, and risk management while ensuring compliance with UK CDM Regulations and client standards. Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an HSE leadership or management role within major energy, oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation including CDM Regulations.
• Ability to lead, develop and motivate HSE teams in a project environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all organisational levels.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain HSE management systems across the site including subcontractors.
• Act as primary HSE focal point for site operations and management of all HSE matters.
• Ensure compliance with UK legislation including CDM Regulations.
• Lead, develop and manage the Field HSE team.
• Provide HSE guidance and advice to project and site management teams.
• Interface with the Environmental Management team on site.
• Lead accident and incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Establish HSE monitoring, inspection and audit programmes.
• Lead risk management activities (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, risk assessments).
• Liaise with Clients, Subcontractors and Regulatory Authorities on HSE matters.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for identified risks.
