Job summary

Brunel is seeking an HSE Engineer to oversee the safety management system during the EPIC Projects for a Decommissioning, Carbon Capture & Storage project in the UK. You will report to the Project HSE Manager and drive HSE procedures across design and construction phases.

Key responsibilities include leading risk assessments (HAZOP/HAZID), ensuring regulatory compliance, conducting internal audits, and coordinating HSE files under CDM. Experience in oil & gas is preferred.

Qualifications

• HSE or engineering degree or diploma required.
• NEBOSH diploma preferred or equivalent.
• Proven experience in offshore/onshore HSE management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, define and supervise HSE procedures at project and construction level.
• Lead Risk Management processes (HAZOP, HAZID, RMPS, Risk Assessment).
• Support implementation and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and conduct internal HSE audits.
• Coordinate and prepare HSE files and deliverables following CDM regulations.
• Complete supplier HSE evaluations and readiness reviews.
• Cover for HSE Trainer, PTW Officer and HSE Officer.
• Record, coordinates and monitors HSE Performance and KPIs.

Job description

As a HSE Engineer, you will report to the Project HSE Manager and ensure the correct development, management and improvement of the safety management system throughout the engineering and development phases (EPIC Projects) of a Decommissioning, Carbon Capture & Storage project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, define and supervise HSE procedures at project and construction level
• Lead Risk Management process (i.e. HAZOP, HAZID, Hazard and Effect Management Process, Risk Assessment, etc.)
• Support implementation and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
• Plan and conduct internal HSE audits
• Coordinate and prepare HSE files and other deliverables following CDM regulations
• Complete supplier HSE evaluations, readiness reviews and review supplier HSE to ensure they meet the Project requirements
• Cover for HSE Trainer, PTW Officer and HSE Officer
• Records, coordinates and monitors HSE Performance and KPI's

REQUIREMENTS

• 3-7 years in the Oil&Gas industry and Onshore projects with activities in construction design regulation management and survey/investigation
• Qualification in HSE or Engineering related field (i.e., NEBOSH diploma)
