Job summary

The Port of London Authority is seeking a Field Engineer to specialise in RADAR, VHF and microwave and other sensor systems across the Thames. Base is Gravesend, Kent, with on-site work at multiple locations.

You will join the IT Navigation Systems team, participate in an on-call rota (one week on call in every four weeks) and bring strong problem-solving, communication and customer-service skills. A degree in electronic engineering and at least five years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• A Degree, or equivalent qualification, in electronic engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years’ practical experience in a comparable role or setting.
• In-depth knowledge of RADAR, radio and microwave engineering, together with experience in the design, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and telecommunications systems.
• Full, clean manual driving licence

Responsibilities

• Participate in a one-week-on-call rota to ensure 24/7 service availability.
• Plan, install and support critical navigation and communications equipment and systems.
• Deliver strong customer-service with a methodical approach and attention to detail.
• Work effectively in a team, or independently, and meet deadlines and standards.
