Job summary

Port of London Authority is seeking a Field Engineer based in Gravesend to work on RADAR, VHF and microwave and other sensor systems across Thames locations. You will join the IT Navigation Systems team, providing and maintaining essential equipment 24/7.

The role requires a degree in electronic engineering or a related discipline and at least five years’ experience, with on-call duties and a driving licence. Training and career development are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in electronic engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five years’ practical experience in a comparable role or setting.
• In-depth knowledge of RADAR, radio and microwave engineering, with experience in design, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities

• Be on-call for 1 week in every four weeks to ensure 24/7 service.
• Maintain and support navigation and communications equipment across Thames locations.
• Collaborate with the IT Navigation Systems team to install and maintain radar, radio and microwave systems.
• Demonstrate strong customer-service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
