Job summary

The Port of London Authority, based in Gravesend with a central London office, is seeking an Assistant Technical Advisor to support the Environment team on tidal Thames projects. The role involves field surveys, technical guidance, and cross-team collaboration across air, water quality, and ecology specialties.

Gravesend will be the primary base with travel along the river as required to meet responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in an environmental field with solid understanding of water quality, air quality or ecology.
• Experience providing technical advice and coordinating projects.
• Strong written communication and interpersonal skills; understanding of river and estuary ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct environmental field surveys.
• Provide technical support across environmental tasks and projects.
• Coordinate activities with lead technical advisors and Environment team.
