About

Are you looking for a role where you get to travel the UK? (All expenses paid) Do you have a valid UK driving licence? Are you local to the Kidderminster area or within a 15-20 minute commute? Do you have an interest in IT?

I am looking for a Field Engineer to join a highly successful computer recycling company based in Kidderminster.

Hours: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours)
Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 DOE
Duration: Fixed term contract for 12 months with potential to become a permanent member of staff

About the role

You will be providing professional IT services to the company's clients. This is an out-and-about role, visiting different companies to carry out IT installation, office moves, data destruction, and more. Clients are located around the UK, and overnight stays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance: Setting up, testing, and maintaining equipment to prevent malfunctions
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently
• Compliance and documentation: Ensuring adherence to industry standards, environmental laws, and safety regulations, while maintaining detailed records
• IT Installations: Desk setups including cable management, testing, and application downloads
• Office Moves: Decommissioning furniture and IT equipment, safe transportation, reassembly, and installation
• Tech Bar: Setting up and managing a Tech Bar at customer sites, including basic assistance and scheduling
• MPS: Managing print services, configuration, and installation at customer sites
• Data Destruction: Asset stripping, data destruction, and secure shredding
• Collections: Safely removing redundant assets from customer sites
• Support and Communication: Maintaining effective communication with managers regarding progress, escalating issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction

Person Specification

• Valid UK driving licence
• Ability to lift and move furniture, computers, and accessories
• Willingness to stay away when required
• Proactive with excellent communication skills
• Smart appearance, as this is a customer-facing role
• Resident in or near Kidderminster
