Job summary

Meritus is seeking a Site Technician to support energy projects across the green and nuclear sectors in the UK. The role involves on-site assembly and wiring of electrical protection and control systems used in transmission, distribution and power generation.

Travel across UK sites is required; you will perform electrical safety testing, read technical drawings, and work with project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of site-based electrical or wiring experience.
• Experience with EC&I installations (substations or similar).
• Ability to read circuit diagrams, wiring schedules, and drawings.
• Willingness to travel across UK locations.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire electrical protection and control systems using drawings and specs.
• Install and terminate cables including multicore, copper, and fibre optics.
• Mechanical assembly of enclosures, frames and cable containment systems.
• Perform electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, checks).
• Coordinate with site teams to meet materials, deliverables and quality standards.
• Identify and report technical issues with engineering teams.
