Field Drainage Engineer – Water Network Maintenance

Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a dedicated permanent, full-time Utility Technician to support our Thames Water contract in Camberley. You will travel to residential sites across the region, operate high-pressure water jetting equipment, clear and maintain drainage systems, and record reports on the specialist equipment provided.

Working 4 days on 4 nights (40.25 hours), you will follow safety rules, use PPE, liaise with Thames Water, and deliver strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Travelling to residential sites, around the region powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
• Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
• Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
• Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
• Delivering good customer service.
• Maintaining good H&S practise while carrying out works.
• Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
• To comply with health and safety responsibilities i.e. PPE / safe site set ups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.
• To be able to utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
• Liaising with the client (Thames Water) regarding progress and any updates.
• Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions utilizing correct PPE, lone worker system, etc.
• Dynamically risk assess site access & working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.
• Provide support to your colleagues.
• To conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
• Report any defects or malfunctions in regards to training.
• Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception.
• Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and their responsibility towards them
• Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management
