Job summary

Apex Systems US is seeking a UK-based Field Engineer to act as the on-site primary contact during deployment of engineering solutions at delivery stations across the UK and Ireland. Role covers matrix, ADTFs, ADTAs, ASLs, Tippers, and retrofits.

Travel will be extensive (75-100%), with site visits, vendor coordination, IT coordination for IDF keys, and validation of cable terminations. You will support tests and drive project closure activities.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven experience with material handling equipment (conveyor systems, sortation, high-speed packaging lines).
• Demonstrated project management capability on large-scale, complex technology projects.
• Six Sigma / Lean methodology certification or practical experience.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel across UK/IE for deployments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Project planning: verify drawings and identify interferences with existing/new equipment; raise MCMs for project phases and address approver concerns.
• Project execution: set up and manage daily calls with vendors, Ops, WHS and RME; provide daily reports; conduct site visits and gather feedback.
• Coordinate with IT to obtain IDF keys, monitor cabinets, and validate cable terminations; ensure installation functionality.
• Support UK FE PM during site acceptance tests (2–3 weeks onsite).
• Project closure: help close snags, collect vendor documentation, and transfer to storage.
