Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced supervisor to lead cleaning and soft services staff across multiple sites. You will plan rotas, oversee attendance, conduct welfare checks and drive performance reviews while ensuring safety and COSHH compliance.

The role requires strong communication, practical problem-solving and the ability to coordinate contractors, audits and daily service delivery in a fast-paced facilities environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising facilities or service-led operational teams across multiple sites.
• Plan rotas, manage absences and prioritise competing tasks across a portfolio.
• Conduct welfare checks, return-to-work conversations and performance follow-ups.
• Knowledge of cleaning standards, COSHH, PPE and basic risk assessment.
• Prepare records, risk assessments and permits; use digital systems and handhelds.
• Communicate clearly with employees, clients and contractors.
• Maintain a calm, fair approach to changing operational demands.
• Hold a Full UK driving licence to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and practical support to cleaners and soft services staff.
• Conduct site visits, welfare conversations and team briefings.
• Complete inductions, probation, and performance reviews.
• Manage attendance, conduct and performance matters with HR guidance.
• Coordinate mandatory training and maintain records.
• Plan rotas and ensure service standards are met across sites.
• Oversee stock, equipment and housekeeping of sites; ensure safety compliance.
• Support project work, subcontractors and contractor permits where needed.
• Build professional relationships with site customers and teams.
