Job summary

Policy Expert Claims is seeking a senior professional to lead the Field Adjusting Team in assessing, validating and settling building and contents claims. You will ensure accurate scopes, costs and settlements, while guiding surveyors and contractors and maintaining compliance with policy terms.

The role involves managing spend and reinstatement activity, providing technical support on complex cases, including FOS, and driving high-quality customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Property claims expertise in buildings and contents
• Technical knowledge: building pathology, reinstatement, repairs, subsidence
• Leadership experience: lead field-based technical or loss adjusting teams
• Commercial & customer focus: strong analytical and communication skills, cost control, quality outcomes
• Qualifications are desirable: HNC, CII/ACII or equivalent surveying/insurance qualification

Responsibilities

• Lead claims assessment – oversee building and contents claim assessments within delegated authority.
• Provide technical leadership – set standards across building repairs, pathology, subsidence and contents for complex claims.
• Manage suppliers and costs – oversee surveyors, contractors and suppliers with cost control and quality.
• Lead and develop the team – coach and develop the Field Adjusting Team, manage performance and wellbeing.
• Ensure governance and customer outcomes – maintain compliance with policy, FCA and data requirements while delivering fair outcomes.
