Job summary

Policy Expert Claims leads a Field Adjusting Team to assess, validate and settle building and contents claims with delegated authority. You’ll ensure accurate scopes, costs and settlements, while guiding surveyors and contractors to high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes leadership of the team, governance and customer outcomes, with travel to sites as needed and a base salary up to £60,000 plus car allowance and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Building and contents claims experience within delegated authority.
• Knowledge of building pathology, reinstatement, repairs and subsidence.
• Ability to lead and develop field-based technical or loss adjusting teams.
• Strong analytical and communication skills focused on cost control and fair outcomes.
• Desirable qualifications in surveying, insurance or property-related fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead claims assessment – oversee building and contents claim assessments, ensuring accurate decisions within delegated authority.
• Provide technical leadership – set technical standards across building repairs and related areas.
• Manage suppliers and costs – oversee surveyors, contractors and cost control through to closure.
• Lead and develop the team – coach and manage performance, engagement and wellbeing.
• Ensure governance and customer outcomes – maintain compliance and fair outcomes under policy terms.
