Job summary

Stiltz Homelifts is seeking a skilled Carpenter/Joiner for a field-based role covering the Peterborough area. You will build ceiling and floor apertures from surveys, ensuring precise, first-time accuracy while coordinating with installation teams and supervising officers.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry, strong first-fix carpentry skills, and a valid UK driving licence. The position offers a full-time permanent contract, a company vehicle, pension, life cover, and a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or equivalent is required.
• Proper experience as a Carpenter/Joiner in construction.
• First-fix carpentry skills with precise measurements.
• Ability to read technical surveys and act on them.
• Knowledge of CDM and site health and safety rules.
• Understanding of UK Building Control regulations.
• Basic plumbing/electrical knowledge is advantageous.
• Valid UK driving licence is required as role includes a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Form ceiling and floor apertures to exact dimensions from surveys.
• Adopt approach per home as surveys vary.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and installation teams.
• Complete Building Control and electrical paperwork accurately.
• Maintain safety in line with CDM and regulations.
• Keep to Building Control standards and good practice.
• Use materials efficiently within scope of works.
• Perform weekly/monthly checks on vehicle, tools and stock.
• Support projects outside usual area when needed.
