Job summary

Draycott Nursing & Care is seeking a Field Care Supervisor to ensure high-quality care at clients’ homes and support staff across services. You will oversee care packages, coach carers and nurses, and ensure adherence to Draycott’s 4 C’s: Care, Compassion, Competence and Communication.

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support carer-facing activities: training, supervision, appraisals, inductions to new care packages.
  • Support client-facing activities: field-based complaints, quality checks, audits, care plan updates.
  • Monitors and supports Quality Improvement Plans and ensures actions are followed.
  • Coach and develop field-based staff to maintain high standards of care.
  • Provide cover for urgent or complex care packages to support continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Operations and People & Culture teams for consistent approach.
  • Provide cover for out-of-hours On-Call service on a rota.
  • Promote and uphold Draycott values, policies and safety in client care.
  • Identify concerns related to safeguarding, wellbeing, and quality and escalate appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with policies and regulatory requirements.

About You and the Role

The purpose of this role is to ensure that our Draycott clients and staff receive the highest quality of care, support and guidance. The role is responsible for helping our clients remain safe, comfortable and well cared for in their own homes, while ensuring our staff feel supported, confident and equipped to deliver the highest standards of care.

The Field Care Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring that Draycott’s policies, procedures and standards are consistently delivered across our care services. They will support the delivery of the Draycott 4 C’s – Care, Compassion, Competence and Communication in the everyday practice of our Carers and Nurses.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within the domiciliary care sector, either as a Carer, Care Coordinator, Supervisor or in another relevant care or administrative role. Ideally, they will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care, although relevant experience will also be considered.

They will be highly organised, reliable and confident in communicating with clients, families and colleagues at all levels. A calm, caring and professional approach is essential, together with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and respond effectively to changing client and business needs.

This is a full time 6-month fixed-term contract

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support carer-facing activities, including training, competency assessments, supervisions, appraisals, conduct follow-ups and the induction of Carers and Nurses to new care packages.
  • Support client-facing activities, including field-based complaints, quality checks, audits, care kit reviews and care plan updates, alongside delegated activities from the clinical team.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing monitoring of Quality Improvement Plans, helping to identify areas for improvement and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.
  • Coach, support and develop the clinical capability and confidence of field-based staff, helping to maintain high standards of care and professional practice.
  • Provide hands‑on support for urgent or complex care packages, including mobilisation of new packages and activity required to support client retention and continuity of care.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Clinical, Operations and People & Culture teams to ensure effective communication and a consistent approach to client and carer support.
  • Provide cover for key business activities as required, including participation in the out‑of‑hours On‑Call service on a regular rota.
  • Promote and uphold Draycott’s values, policies and procedures at all times, ensuring that the quality and safety of client care remains at the centre of all activities.
  • Identify and elevate any concerns relating to client wellbeing, safeguarding, quality of care, staff performance or compliance through the appropriate channels.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in line with Draycott’s policies, regulatory requirements and best practice.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to support the effective delivery of high‑quality care services.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years hands on care experience
  • Must hold an NVQ Level 3 (ideally Level 4 in Health and Social Care qualification
  • You will also need to hold the on call duty, on rotation with the team
  • Whilst predominantly day time work, we do need someone who can be flexible to start early or late or occasionally at the weekend
  • In-depth knowledge of care planning
  • Experience in care planning and carry out risk assessments
