Job summary

Unipart Group is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer - Transport Solutions for a fixed term contract (to June 2027), field based across the UK. Salary up to £60,000 per annum, plus car or car allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Experience in logistics, supply chain or a data-intensive industry.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and attention-to-detail skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
Experience in Transport Routing & Scheduling.
Ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture beyond daily operations.
Excellent communication skills to translate data into insights for stakeholders.
Proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

Responsibilities

Analyse historical transport data to identify trends, inefficiencies and opportunities for network improvement.
Develop, monitor and report KPIs covering cost, service and sustainability; analyse cost-to-serve and asset utilisation.
Provide data and insights to support business cases for new technologies and process changes.
Support tendering and reviews with essential data analysis for new client opportunities.
Evaluate carrier performance against service levels and cost benchmarks to drive improvement.
Investigate recurring operational challenges and recommend sustainable long-term solutions.
