Job summary

Universal Business Team is actively seeking a Specification Manager for a National Field-Based role with weekly office presence at the Norwich head office. The position involves engaging with architects, surveyors and consultants to secure product specifications and drive project opportunities across the construction lifecycle.

You will work with sales, estimating, technical and marketing teams to convert specifications into profitable business while travelling nationally in a hybrid work setup

Qualifications

• Experience in specification sales or business development within construction products.
• Ability to build credibility with architects, consultants and contractors.
• Strong understanding of the construction project lifecycle.
• Proven track record in presenting technical information and influencing product selection.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with architects, consultants and other specifiers.
• Identify and secure product specifications on commercial projects.
• Deliver CPDs, technical presentations and product demonstrations.
• Generate and qualify opportunities using market intelligence and CRM records.
• Manage projects from design through tender to contractor appointment.
• Protect specifications and minimise product substitution.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support successful project conversion.
• Maintain an accurate project pipeline and CRM records.
