Job summary

Catalent is seeking a Business Development Director - Micronization to evaluate and secure micronization opportunities, develop account strategies, and lead negotiations with new and existing customers. You will drive growth, manage pricing and forecasts, and collaborate across R&D, legal, and finance to deliver compelling solutions.

Field-based role requiring travel up to 50%, with opportunities to engage customers at Catalent's Dartford UK facility and other sites globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline, business, or related field; Master's/MBA/PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development or sales within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or CDMO industry.
• Demonstrated experience in micronization and/or API manufacturing, with ability to understand and communicate complex capabilities and requirements.
• Proven track record of identifying, developing and securing new business opportunities, including new account penetration and relationship development.
• Experience with proposal development, commercial quotations, budgeting, and defining project scope and timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with ability to engage both commercial and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work across cross-functional teams and build relationships with customer scientists and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Salesforce experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including visits to Dartford (UK) and Malvern (PA) manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and secure new micronization business opportunities across accounts and prospects.
• Develop account strategies, identify decision-makers, and prioritize opportunities to maximize revenue growth.
• Build and maintain customer relationships, managing pricing, forecasts, contracts, renewals, and reviews.
• Collaborate with R&D, Contract Management, Legal, Finance, and other teams to develop proposals, quotations, and commercial agreements.
• Present Catalent's micronization capabilities and translate customer needs into solutions.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for additional Catalent services and develop partnerships.
• Monitor pipelines, market trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and drive innovation.
• Develop territory plans, track sales performance, and maintain CRM records and forecasts.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure responsive, customer-focused approach.
• Represent Catalent at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and associations.
