Motor Fuel Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an Area Manager to oversee 16–22 company-owned stations, ensuring Health & Safety compliance, profitability, and brand standards across the estate.

You will manage Contract Managers, drive shop and forecourt promotions, and conduct monthly fuel audits while building strong supplier relationships. The role is field-based with travel and nights away from home as required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in forecourt/retail sector.
• Experience in contract management or franchise business model.
• High self-motivation and discipline to work demanding hours.
• Outstanding communication and people skills.
• Good numeracy and attention to detail; strong financial awareness.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home as required.
• Able to work well in a team and lead when needed.
• Mileage likely to exceed 40,000 miles per year.

Responsabilités

• Ensure stations operate in accordance with Health & Safety policies.
• Collate, investigate and communicate incident information.
• Manage communications in line with company policy.
• Ensure security of company property.
• Conduct monthly fuel audits at each station.
• Review Shop, Forecourt and Food Services for maximum potential and raise issues with management.
• Apply correct fuel retail prices to maximise margins.
• Select, submit for finance approval, train and, where necessary, serve notice to Contract Managers.
• Monitor training compliance across the estate.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and partners to promote promotions and brand standards.
• Maintain planograms and controlled range with suppliers.
• Monitor promotions and loyalty schemes across stations.
• Review expenditure and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure Contract Managers operate within agreements.
• Handle customer complaints and follow up training as required.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for maintenance and equipment uptime.
• Maintain income and expenditure to budget targets.
• Support line manager with additional duties.
