Job summary

Motor Fuel Group is seeking an Area Retail Manager to lead performance across 16–22 company-owned and franchise forecourt stations in the Leicester region. This is a hands-on role requiring strong commercial oversight, customer experience focus and profitability across a multi-site operation.

You will coach Contract Managers, drive sales, manage budgets and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while maintaining excellent supplier and partner relationships.

We’re looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Area Retail Manager to lead the performance of 16–22 company-owned, franchise operated forecourt stations across a defined region.

This is a genuinely hands‑on role where you’ll be responsible for performance, customer experience and profitability across a significant multi‑site operation.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Coach and develop Contract Managers and their teams across your region
• Drive sales, profitability and operational performance across 16–22 sites
• Own key commercial measures including fuel, shop and forecourt performance
• Ensure exceptional standards across health & safety, compliance and customer service
• Conduct regular station and fuel audits, identifying opportunities and managing risks
• Drive effective promotions, pricing, merchandising and product availability
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and external partners
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial performance
• Manage customer complaints and ensure effective resolution
• Oversee training, development and compliance across the estate
• Coordinate maintenance and minimise equipment downtime
• Identify and implement initiatives that improve sales, efficiency and profitability

What you’ll bring

• Experience of managing contractors, franchisees or independent operators is highly desirable

This is a field-based role

• Expect significant travel across your area, with occasional overnight stays.
