Job summary
Mobile HGV Technician required for East London and Purfleet area. Field-based role diagnosing, servicing and repairing commercial vehicles, with occasional workshop work. Competitive salary: £45,000 base plus a £1,500 joining bonus and overtime.
Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with no weekend work and a comprehensive benefits package. Role covers East London, Purfleet and surrounding areas, with 5-stage training leading to Master Technician progression.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent City & Guilds / apprenticeship.
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician.
- Full UK Class 2 driving licence (Category C or CE).
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service and repair a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles.
- Carry out inspections, maintenance and fault finding to manufacturer standards.
- Prepare commercial vehicles for MOT testing.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with safety and legal requirements.
- Work on a fleet including Mercedes-Benz, Iveco and Ford vehicles.
- Complete paperwork accurately and maintain high workmanship standards.
- Provide excellent customer service whilst working independently in the field.
