Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd in Yorkshire and the Humber is seeking an experienced Fabrication & Welding Assessor to join our further education team. This permanent, full-time role involves supporting apprentices as they work toward their qualifications, visiting workplaces to assess competence and monitor progress.

You will liaise with employers, coach learners through End-Point Assessment, maintain learner records, and ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent).
• Experience mentoring apprentices or learners (desirable).
• TAQA or A1 assessing qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload of fabrication and welding apprentices.
• Carry out regular workplace visits to assess competence and monitor progress.
• Complete assessment documentation and maintain accurate learner records.
• Coach apprentices to achieve apprenticeship standards.
• Prepare apprentices for End-Point Assessment.
• Monitor off-the-job training and ensure apprenticeship requirements are met.
• Work with employers to support apprentices in the workplace.
• Attend standardisation meetings and CPD activities.
• NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent).
