Job summary

Dovetail & Slate, a further education provider in Cumbria, is seeking an experienced Fabrication & Welding Lecturer to deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons to students at multiple levels. You’ll draw on industry experience to help learners build skills for a career in fabrication and welding.

You’ll work with a team of tutors, assess progress, and help prepare students for industry-recognised qualifications while maintaining safe workshop environments.

Qualifications

• Significant industry experience in fabrication and welding.
• Relevant trade qualifications in fabrication and welding.
• Strong communication skills with learners of different abilities.
• Commitment to safe working practices.
• Desirable teaching qualification or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality fabrication and welding lessons.
• Assess and monitor student progress with constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for industry-recognised qualifications and assessments.
• Maintain a safe, well-organised workshop in line with health and safety requirements.
• Support development of course materials and schemes of work.
• Engage in CPD to keep skills current.
