Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is recruiting an Operator – Asset Inspector based at the Bodmin depot to maintain safety, reliability and integrity of the network. The role involves outdoor field inspections of assets, engaging with customers, landowners and farmers, and maintaining records using installed mobile devices.

You will inspect 132kV assets and other statutory assets, plan your daily workload, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, often visiting

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out inspections or condition assessments in utilities or similar environments.
• Strong communication skills with customers, landowners and field staff.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload in outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of network assets up to 132kV and other assets with statutory requirements.
• Perform pole inspections and asset condition assessments in varied environments.
• Follow up on inspection reports and investigate defects or safety concerns.
• Maintain and update inspection records using mobile devices and company systems.
• Plan daily workload and manage inspection activities across allocated area.
• Work safely and adhere to company procedures and safety culture.
