Job summary

Last Mile Group is hiring an Asset Inspector to support the construction and adoption of electricity, gas and water networks. The role involves site-based inspections and surveys, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards across multiple utilities.

The position is England-based with travel to sites in the north and south. We welcome candidates with relevant utility experience and an engineering background to join our expanding team.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction and adoption of electricity, gas and water networks.
• Based in England; willing to travel to sites across the north and south of the country.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, audits and surveys across electricity, gas and water network construction, including substation installation, main laying, cable jointing, mains and service laying, pressure testing and chlorination, with outputs recorded in business systems.
• Conduct regulatory inspections pre- and post-adoption in line with industry guidance and safety requirements; escalate non-compliance.
• Provide on-site advice to Independent Connection Providers and contractors on health, safety, quality and best practices across multi-utility works.
• Act as first point of contact for faults and operational issues, liaising with emergency services, network operators and stakeholders.
• Maintain safe working practices, attend coordination meetings, manage routine correspondence and monthly reports.
• Ensure any defects are notified and closed out by ICP in a timely manner.
