Job summary

Talentmark are recruiting for a Field Application Scientist to join an innovative life science tools company based in Cambridge, on a permanent basis. Your main duties include delivering hands-on instrument demonstrations across the UK and internationally, supporting Sales with discovery calls and conferences, and translating customer workflows into effective demonstration proposals.

You will capture customer feedback and collaborate with Sales, R&D, Engineering and Product teams to support

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in a relevant field with industry exposure.
• Strong hands-on laboratory experience and excellent pipetting skills.
• Experience with protein quantification techniques is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

The Company

Our client is a growing Series A life science technology company developing next-generation analytical technology for the biopharmaceutical industry.

Your main duties will be:

• Deliver hands‑on instrument demonstrations and provide technical support to customers across the UK and internationally.
• Support Sales with customer discovery calls, technical discussions, conferences and follow‑up.
• Understand customer workflows and translate their scientific requirements into effective demonstration proposals.
• Capture customer feedback and work closely with Sales, R&D, Engineering and Product teams to support adoption.

Your Background

• MSc with relevant industry experience or a PhD in a relevant field such as protein expression, antibody development, cell line development or process development.
• Strong hands‑on laboratory experience with excellent pipetting and experimental skills.
• Experience with protein quantification techniques such as ELISA, BLI, SPR or SEC‑HPLC would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging with scientific audiences.
• Customer‑focused, organised and comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally for up to 75% of working days.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
