Job summary

Talentmark are recruiting an in-field Associate Scientist / Scientist to join a growing life science tools company in Cambridge. You will deliver hands-on instrument demonstrations, provide technical support across the UK and internationally, and translate customer workflows into compelling demonstration proposals.

The role requires an MSc with relevant experience or a PhD, strong lab skills, familiarity with protein quantification methods, and a full UK driving licence with access to a car;

Qualifications

• MSc with relevant industry experience or a PhD in a field such as protein expression or process development.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with precise pipetting and experimental skills.
• Experience with protein quantification techniques (ELISA, BLI, SPR, SEC-HPLC) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, confident engaging with scientific audiences.
• Customer-focused, organized, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 75% of working days.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

The Company:

Our client is a growing Series A life science technology company developing next-generation analytical technology for the biopharmaceutical industry.

Your main duties will be:

• Deliver hands-on instrument demonstrations and provide technical support to customers across the UK and internationally.
• Support Sales with customer discovery calls, technical discussions, conferences and follow-up.
• Understand customer workflows and translate their scientific requirements into effective demonstration proposals.
• Capture customer feedback and work closely with Sales, R&D, Engineering and Product teams to support adoption.

Your Background:

• MSc with relevant industry experience or a PhD in a relevant field such as protein expression, antibody development, cell line development or process development.
• Strong hands-on laboratory experience with excellent pipetting and experimental skills.
• Experience with protein quantification techniques such as ELISA, BLI, SPR or SEC-HPLC would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging with scientific audiences.
• Customer-focused, organised and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
