Job summary

Xylum Ltd is recruiting for a field installation role based in Leeds to support fibre infrastructure projects across underground and overhead networks. The successful candidate will install fibre, splice within loss limits, and dress and label trays and cables while commissioning networks and recording test results.

Responsibilities also include installing CCTV, 5G and data cabling, diagnosing faults to resolution, and performing daily risk assessments with safe disposal of waste materials.

Responsibilities

• Install fibre infrastructure in underground and overhead networks, including fibre blowing.
• Prepare cable sheath into closures, dress the fibre and close the closure.
• Splice within loss limits and support, restrain and label trays and cables.
• Commission networks, produce test results and as-built drawings, and use results to troubleshoot.
• Install satellite, 5G, WiFi, data cabling, phone and CCTV equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults through to resolution.
• Carry out daily risk assessments and dispose of scrap fibre and cable safely.
• Record job details, test results and photographs accurately on the day
