Job summary

Upton Tree Services is seeking a proactive Fencing Operative to join our field team. You will install, repair and maintain a variety of fencing systems across multiple sites, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery.

The role requires physical stamina, accuracy in measurements and clear collaboration with colleagues on site. We offer a permanent, full-time position with travel to client sites, upfront training, and a supportive team environment committed to craftsmanship and customer

Qualifications

• Proven experience in carpentry, masonry, roofing, or general construction work is highly desirable
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in fencing installation and maintenance
• Knowledge of welding techniques and fabrication processes is a plus
• Basic understanding of electrical or plumbing experience can be beneficial for integrated fencing solutions
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, measurements, and project plans accurately
• Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards throughout all tasks

Responsibilities

• Install a variety of fencing types including wooden, metal, vinyl, and wire fences according to project specifications
• Measure and mark out fence lines accurately to ensure proper alignment and positioning
• Use hand tools and power tools such as drills, saws, post drivers, and welding equipment to assemble and secure fencing components
• Prepare sites by clearing debris, digging post holes, and setting foundations for fence posts
• Conduct repairs on existing fences by replacing damaged panels or posts and reinforcing structures as needed
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate project timelines and ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
• Fabricate custom fencing sections or accessories using welding or cutting techniques when required
