Job summary

The Resourcing Team is recruiting Fence Installers for nationwide utility-site work across the UK. The role requires staying away most weeks and performing steelwork and fence installations to high security standards.

Applicants should have proven fencing installation experience, a valid CSCS card, strong health and safety awareness, and the ability to work with client representatives and lead installers. Company van and fuel card provided.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card is required.
• Proven experience installing fencing systems.
• Awareness of health, safety and quality standards (HSG47).
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Install steelwork and fence structures as specified.
• Inform Lead Fence Installer of deviations or extra purchasing needs.
• Report defects, snags, and safety incidents to Lead Fence Installer.
• Ensure risk assessments and method statements are followed.
• Obtain permits prior to activity and promote material sustainability.
• Carry out minor civils works when required.

Fence Installer

Remuneration & Benefits

• Up to £19/hour + £40/overnight stay + overtime

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Fence Installers to join our team. This role involves installing high security fencing on utilities sites across the UK. Due to our fencing teams working on projects for large national contracts, we require our team to stay away most weeks.

Role & Responsibilities

• Installation of Steelwork and Fence structures
• Informing Lead Fence Installer of deviations from arrangements or additional purchasing requirements.
• Reporting defects, snags and complaints to Lead Fence Installer
• Reporting health & safety defects / incidents / accidents and near miss situations to the Lead Fence Installer
• Liaising with Client's representatives (as required)
• Verification of times claimed on timesheets and any other personal expenses.
• Ensuring that all Risk Assessments and Method Statements are adhered to.
• Ensure all appropriate permits are in place prior to any activity taking place.
• For promoting good practice of material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs.
• For reporting to the Lead Installer all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s.
• Minor Civils works (Sills, Small Foundations, Drawpits, Ducting)

Essential Competencies

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card
• Proven record of fencing systems installation.
• Proven ability to carry out installations.Able to make decisions and take responsibility.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Must have good observational skills especially for Health, Safety and Quality issues.
• Ability to learn, understand promote and apply new technologies.
• HSG47
• Previous experience on substation / gas sites preferable.
