Job summary

RHI Industrials Ltd is seeking a Fence Installer to join our field-based team across the UK. You will install steelwork and fence structures, coordinating with the Lead Fence Installer and ensuring work aligns with the specification and safety requirements.

Travel and overnight stays will be required as part of delivering projects for major utilities, with emphasis on quality, health and safety, and timely completion.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card is essential for site access and safety compliance.
• Proven record of fencing systems installation.
• Proven ability to carry out installations to specification.
• Ability to work to strict deadlines and manage time.
• Ability to make decisions and take responsibility on site.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with team and clients.
• Must be computer literate with basic IT skills.
• Must have strong health, safety, and quality awareness on construction sites.
• Focus on safety, environmental and quality issues across site operations.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel on site.
• Professional in approach and able to adapt to change.
• Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
• HSG47 knowledge is preferred.
• Experience on substations/gas sites is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Installation of steelwork and fence structures.
• Inform Lead Fence Installer of deviations or additional purchasing needs.
• Report defects, snags and complaints to Lead Fence Installer.
• Report health & safety defects/incidents and near misses to Lead Installer.
• Uphold the image and name of RHI Industrials Ltd at all times.
• Liaise with Client’s representatives as required.
• Verify timesheets and personal expenses.
• Monitor daily work activities and report progress to Lead Installer.
• Ensure compliance with company management systems and processes.
• Ensure works are installed per the works specification.
• Adhere to risk assessments and method statements.
• Ensure permits are in place before activity.
• Promote sustainable material practices to reduce waste.
• Report defective materials and substandard workmanship to Lead Installer.
• Carry out minor civils works (sills, small foundations, draw pits, ducting).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the UK’s largest Utility companies across the UK, to join as an ambitious Fence Installer and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth

This is a field based, UK wide role, so it is imperative that you are happy to travel /work away from home

Essential Competencies:

• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card
• Proven record of fencing systems installation.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Installation of Steelwork and Fence structures
• Informing Lead Fence Installer of deviations from arrangements or additional purchasing requirements.
• Reporting defects, snags and complaints to Lead Fence Installer
• Reporting health & safety defects / incidents / accidents and near miss situations to the Lead Installer
• Ensuring image and name associated with RHI Industrials Ltd are upheld at all times.
• Liaising with Client’s representatives (as required)
• Verification of times claimed on timesheets and any other personal expenses.
• For monitoring own daily work activities and reporting progress and issues of concern to the Lead Installer
• For ensuring that company management systems and processes are adhered to.
• Ensure that all works are installed and executed in accordance with the works specification.
• Ensuring that all Risk Assessments and Method Statements are adhered to.
• Ensure all appropriate permits are in place prior to any activity taking place.
• For promoting good practice of material sustainability (Reuse and/or Recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs.
• For reporting to the Lead Installer all defective materials and substandard quality/workmanship standards that do not meet the works specification/s.
• Minor Civils works (Sills, Small Foundations, Drawpits, Ducting).
