Job summary

Thera East Anglia is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist adults with a learning disability, both in home and in the community. You will deliver personal and emotional support, help individuals set and achieve personal goals, and adapt care plans to suit changing needs.

The role may involve working in people’s own homes and community settings, with shifts including early mornings, late shifts, and occasional sleep-ins. A caring, patient, and humorous attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license is essential, able to drive manual cars and support people with mobility vehicles.
• Must be able to work as part of 24/7 shift pattern including earlier, lates and sleep-ins/occasionally cover night shift.
• Personal care, moving and handling required.
• Confident to support people with complex needs including epilepsy.
• Great sense of humour and be kind.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal and emotional support to adults with learning disabilities.
• Assist with daily living tasks, planning and managing their own home.
• Support individuals in activities, leisure, employment and travel in home/community.
• Adapt support as needs change and work within a person-centred approach.
