Job summary

Specialist Homecare Group is seeking a Female Support Worker to assist an individual with learning disability, autism and mental health needs in the New Quay area. The role involves day and night support across a 24-hour pattern with 12-hour shifts, Monday to Friday and weekend availability.

The position offers weekly pay, training, progression opportunities and a supportive team dedicated to person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with learning disability/autism/mental health needs preferred.
• Able to provide day and night support.
• Commitment to person-centred care and advocacy.

Hours: 1 x 24 Hours

Pay: £14.00 per hour days/ £15.00 per hour nights

We are currently recruiting part time Support Workers to support an individual within the NEWQUAY area.

Role Description

• Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life.
• Have a good understanding of Autism / Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting
• Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are.
• Be a positive advocate for them.
• Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why.
• Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
• Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
• Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
• Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks
• Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
• Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care
• Think outside the box
• Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries

Schedule:

• 12 hour shifts – 08:00 to 20:00 / 20:00 to 08:00
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
• Overtime

Licence/Certification:

• Mental Health (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)

*Refer a friend bonus is payable at

• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their first shift.
• £125 once the referred individual has successfully completed their probation period.
