Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Sheffield is seeking a Female Project Worker to support people experiencing domestic abuse in the S13 area. The role is 15 hours per week at £13.87 per hour, with Monday and Tuesday shifts 10:30 - 18:30.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse or in supported living.
  • Knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears and health and safety.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client needs and update support plans, signposting to opportunities.
  • Support clients with managing finances and welfare benefits.
  • Encourage social inclusion and help clients build confidence and resilience.
  • Work with agencies on behalf of clients and advocate when needed.
  • Promote safe working practices by completing risk assessments.

Your role
  • Assess client needs and update support plans, signposting to education, training and employment opportunities
  • Support clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encourage social inclusion and help clients build confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Work with agencies on behalf of clients, promoting choice and acting as an advocate when needed
  • Promote safe working practices by completing risk assessments within legislative guidelines

(This role is sometimes also referred to as Support Worker, Support Assistant, or Independent Living Assistant).

Your skills
  • Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse or working in supported living
  • Knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears and health and safety of the building.
  • Understanding of occupancy agreements
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work on your own initiative
  • Empathetic and non-judgmental with strong interpersonal skills
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards
  • Proficient technology/IT skills (Microsoft Office and similar)
