Job summary

GCIL South Lanarkshire is recruiting a Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker to support a woman with a physical disability in Carluke. The role requires 1:1 care at home and in the community, with duties including personal care, medication support, meal prep, and assistance with mobility.

Shifts are 4 x 4 hours, typically 1PM–5PM, Monday to Friday, with overtime available to cover absences. A warm, friendly, and communicative approach is essential for maintaining independence and dignity.

Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker Ref: CORK/LD/11-25 (GCIL South Lanarkshire)

Female Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a Woman with a Physical Disability living in the Carluke area.

You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home, and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

• Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements.)
• Assisting with medication
• Preparing meals and healthy snacks is required
• Walking assistance is required
• Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair.
• Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
• Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
• Driver preferred but not essential

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

Favourite activities are Art, Listening to audible books, swimming, music and socialising.

Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog/cat/bird in the home.

Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)

Recruiting for one position.

Guaranteed permanent position of 16 hours per week

Days and times:

Shifts - 4 shifts of 4 hours

Covering Monday - Friday, typically 1PM - 5PM.

Overtime will be available to cover the existing Team's absence.

Hourly rate:

£14.45 per hour
