Job description

Personal Assistant for Social Support - REF: JM/SF

A man in his 60s who lives with his family in East Kilbride is looking for a full-time Personal Assistant/Support Worker to support him to enjoy an active social life and stay connected with his local community.

He enjoys cinema trips, days out, lunches and coffee mornings, and would like support and companionship to take part in these activities during the day.

He also attends Healthy and Active in East Kilbride, where he takes part in activities such as art classes and yoga, and would like assistance to continue attending.

He has cerebral palsy and is looking for someone sociable, easygoing and caring who can support him in a way that promotes his independence. No personal care is required, although occasional prompts, such as reminders to wash his hands, may be needed.

Driver essential with access to your own vehicle – mileage will be paid.

Hours of work: 31 hours per week.

Typically - Monday to Friday during the day - this can be flexible to a certain degree depending on the candidate’s availability, to be discussed at interview.

Rate of pay: £13.50 per hour
