Job summary

Penderels Trust is seeking a care assistant to support a disabled individual at home. The role involves personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks on a 12-hour weekly rota with flexible timing. A valid car and business insurance are required for transport between visits.

Successful candidates will work closely with the individual to provide compassionate care, maintain hygiene and safety, and report any incidents. DBS checks are required and costs are covered by the employer.

About The Employer

Lady with a physical disability requires support for all daily activities and personal care. Lady uses a wheelchair and will need to be hoisted all training provide by the employer. 12 hours per week on a rota. 3 calls per day between Monday to Sunday on rota, hours are flexible as per availability. Calls are in the AM, dinner and evening and include personal care light housework and food preparation when required. Medication on occasions needs to be collected or samples taken to doctors so a carer who is able to drive is required.

About The Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner – must have business insurance.

Required Training

Successful candidates are required to undertake any training that is considered necessary and appropriate to the role.

• Moving and Handling. PA must already hold relevant qualification.
• Catheter Care. Training will be provided by the employer.

Hours per week: 12 hours per week, on a rota
