Job summary

Penderels Trust in the West Midlands is seeking a reliable personal assistant to support a lady and her two young children. The role includes school runs, meal prep, light housekeeping and general practical support in the family home.

You should be comfortable working independently, with children, and have clear English language skills. A satisfactory DBS disclosure is required (costs covered) and there is flexibility during school holidays, with set hours during term time.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is beneficial.
• Must be able to work English–speaking.
• Long‑term role with set days during term time and flexible holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support and/or prompt with personal care (toileting, showering, getting dressed).
• Assist with cooking/meal preparation and eating.
• Help with taking medication.
• Assist with household chores and general Homemaking.
• Support with shopping and daily errands.
• Develop a trusting one‑to‑one relationship with the family.
• Occasional light gardening and outdoor tasks.

Looking for a reliable, caring and patient personal assistant to support a lady and her two young children. The role will involve helping to get the children ready safely for school and making sure they are prepared and ready for the day. Tasks will include but are not limited to preparing and packing school lunches, taking the children to school, light cleaning and general housekeeping, assisting with shopping and providing general practical support to the family. Looking for someone who is experienced and confident working with children, able to work independently and use own initiative and who is English speaking. This is a long-term position. Whilst there is a need for set days doing school term time due to school runs there is flexibility during school holidays.

About The Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt with personal care. This may include toileting, showering/bathing, getting in and out of bed, getting dressed.
• Support and/or prompt with cooking/meal preparation and eating meals/drinks.
• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Support with food shopping.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.
• Support with gardening.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

Transport Requirement

Car driver and car owner - must have business insurance.
