About Elody
We are looking for a kind, caring and fun-loving female Personal Assistant to spend time with our lovely 7-year-old daughter, Elody.
Elody is a happy, loving, chatty and very sassy little girl who has autism, ADHD and Sensory Processing Disorder. She has a big personality, loves a good conversation and enjoys getting out and about, having fun and trying new things!
Elody loves swimming, trips to the park, feeding the ducks and visiting the beach, especially if there’s an ice cream involved! She also enjoys trampolining, gymnastics, dancing, listening to music and riding her bike or roller boots. She is happiest when she’s busy and having fun.
We would love to find someone who can build a lovely relationship with Elodie, share her interests and help her enjoy new experiences while keeping her safe.
What Support Does Elody Need?
Elody is quite an independent little girl and likes to do things for herself, but she does need someone who can provide gentle guidance, reassurance and supervision.
She is extremely friendly and chatty, which is one of her lovely qualities, but she doesn’t always recognise the dangers of talking to strangers. She can also get excited and run ahead when out and about, so it’s important that her PA is attentive and reminds her to stay close.
Although Elody can use the toilet independently, she must always have someone waiting outside the bathroom door to ensure she is safe.
Elody also needs regular reminders to have a drink, as she can become so busy enjoying herself that she will happily go all day without one!
Routine is important to Elody, and unexpected changes can sometimes be difficult for her to manage. She needs someone who is patient, understanding and able to offer reassurance and support when she becomes overwhelmed or dysregulated.
Elody also has sensory sensitivities, which can sometimes affect her choice of clothing, so she may need a little encouragement and support with dressing appropriately for the weather.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone who is friendly, patient, energetic and genuinely enjoys spending time with children.
The ideal person will have experience supporting children with autism, ADHD and additional needs and understand how to respond calmly and positively when things become challenging.
You will need to be confident taking Elody out on activities, encouraging her independence while ensuring she is safe and supervised, at all times.
A full UK driving licence is essential, and you should also be comfortable using public transport if Elody fancies an adventure on a bus or train.
Elody lives at home with her mum and the family dog, so you will need to be comfortable around dogs.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will get to know Elody for the lovely little girl she is, have fun with her, encourage her confidence and help her make lots of happy memories!
