Job summary

Disability North is seeking two female Personal Assistants to support Enid at her home in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, helping with daily activities and maintaining independence.

Visits occur twice daily, around 9:30–10:00 in the morning and around 5:00 in the evening, including dressing, meals, light housekeeping, and community outings; driving experience is essential.

Qualifications

• There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 - 4.
• Two kind, reliable and caring Female Personal Assistants to support Enid in her own home.

Responsibilities

• Support will include helping Enid with dressing, preparing and supporting with meals, and completing some light household tasks.
• The PAs will also provide support when Enid goes out into the community, including accompanying her on shopping trips and helping her to access the things she enjoys.
• Visiting Enid twice a day, with a morning visit around 9:30am/10:00am and an afternoon/evening visit around 5:00pm.
• PAs who are confident driving are essential for this role.

Job description

Hours: 25 hours per week - twice a day (7 days per week). Job share, 2 PAs required.

Area: Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne

Rate: £15.50 per hour

We are currently recruiting for two kind, reliable and caring Female Personal Assistants to support Enid in her own home and help her maintain her independence and daily routine.

Enid has a visual impairment and is looking for someone who can provide friendly, practical and respectful support with everyday activities, enabling her to remain as independent as possible within her own home and community.

Due to the personal nature of the support required, we are specifically looking for female PAs. The role will involve visiting Enid twice a day, with a morning visit around 9:30am/10:00am and an afternoon/evening visit around 5:00pm.

Support will include helping Enid with dressing, preparing and supporting with meals, and completing some light household tasks. The PAs will also provide support when Enid goes out into the community, including accompanying her on shopping trips and helping her to access the things she enjoys.

As Enid has a visual impairment, the successful applicants will need to be patient, observant and understanding, providing reassurance and appropriate support while promoting Enid's independence and dignity. PAs who are confident driving are essential for this role.
